Mud Football and other boyish things

Many of you also check in on my baby girls blog from time to time. So, you get to hear alot about the cute baby things happening in our house and recently you heard about Mikayla and the mission trip she is on.

So today I thought I would show you the boys! Actually what happend was, is rained this morning. Since we are living in a new house and still waiting for our landscaping and sod to arrive ... when it rains we live on a acre lot of MUD. What do you suppose boys want to do when their entire back yard is all mud?

hmmmm... they look so innocent here, don't they?

Well, stay tuned because after I get my kiddos fed and ready for bed I'll be back to show you how those innocent boys ended up looking like this:

We really did have fun!

I ♥ Faces ~ June 22 ~ Boys!!!

WEEK 24 - June 22nd - "Let's Hear It For The Boys!" It's the week after Father's Day and we'd like to keep honoring the special men in our life for the rest of the week.

All photos entered this week at I ♥ Faces should have a boy or man in them (no girls allowed this week). So come on over to I ♥ Faces and share a photo of that special boy in your life with us or just come take a look at all the amazing photos there.

Here is my entry for the Kids Category:

I took this picture just before the boys left with their dad to goto a "pirate party" hosted by our church. They had so much fun, really getting into the pirate theme. And I had fun editing it in Picasa ... still loving the sepia look.

And my entry for the Adults Category:

I took this picture earlier this year on a flight to Seattle. I love to watch my hubby being a daddy. He is so present with our kids and their needs. And I especially love when I come across these snuggling, sleeping moments.

Haiku Friday - Our Boys

Haiku Friday

The boys in our house:
Sweet - it is true, but somedays
A loud handful too

Gus Gus is now nine
Handspings and flips are his thing
Needs a hair cut, too

Mr. O can think
Strangly outside of the box
Makes me laugh each day

And our Baby Z
Not really a baby now
Always on the go!

I thank God each day
He blessed our life with boys and
Hugs, dirt, frogs and love

Rejoicing in not understanding

Why is it that all of our boys have loved things that have wheels and make loud noises? Our daughter never thought those kinds of things were extraordinary :) But all of our boys fight over who gets to "help" dad mow the lawn. Now, from the paranoid mama mind ... this seems like a very bad idea (as a lawn mower could potentially cause bodily harm), but I trust my hubby and I see how very much the boys enjoy helping dad with his "chores". I do hope they grow up to be just like this dad they adore so much. God has blessed me with a wonderful man! Lots of things I'll never really understand about him or our sons, but that's OK, they are wonderful sons of a living God and I'm proud to love them.
